TPI for Every Application

TPI stands for threads per inch and Newport's AJS screws are available in five different thread pitches to cover the sensitivity requirements of every application. Higher TPI provides for a shorter thread pitch with higher sensitivity to a 1° rotation of the adjustment screw. High-precision 254, 170, 127, 100, or 20 TPI, rolled stainless steel threads are mated with the collet and proprietary lubricant for stictionless movement.

Patented Non-influencing Locks

Our patented thread-pitch lock secures the adjustment screw from turning by simply tightening a setscrew. Engaging or disengaging the thread-pitch lock, now standard, won't influence the screw position. Versions with knobs have the lock screw on the side, while hex versions have the lock screw conveniently located on the end next to the drive screw. A single wrench is used for both adjustment and locking. Non-locking, 12.7 mm travel versions are also available for use in optical mounts.

Faster Alignment Times

High TPI adjusters have a clear sensitivity and alignment time advantage. This graph shows the results of alignment time testing of the Ultima Mirror mount with adjustment screws having 80, 100, 127 and 170 TPI.

Choose the Sensitivity You Need

170 TPI AJS adjustment screws provide a significant improvement in sensitivity over typical adjustment screws. 254 TPI versions are now available.

Sized to Fit Mounts and Stages

Newport's AJS adjustment screws have 9.5 mm industry standard mounting shanks allowing them to fit most optical mounts and linear stages where micrometer heads can be used.

Optional Adjustment Knobs

AJS adjustment screws are offered with a knob or hex adjustment. KD.37

and KD.75 stainless steel knobs are available as an accessory for use with the hex adjustment versions. The knobs feature an integral 5/64-in. (2-mm) hex hey for increased adjustment sensitivity.

One Hex Tool for Both Adjustment and Locking

New hex adjustment knobs are now available for precise fingertip control of the hex adjustment screws in a compact optical system. Longer hex than competitor products allows access to both the adjuster and the lock, enabling convenient adjustment and locking by the same tool HX.078-2M-PK

.

Cost Saving Packs

AJS adjustment screws are offered in cost saving packs of 6 or 10 for OEM applications or to facilitate the upgrade of Ultima and Suprema mirror mounts.
