A heat sink dissipates the heat. It is important to be aware that the outside of the mirror housing, particularly the heat sink, becomes very hot. Caution should be used when working with these light sources and components.
For easy coupling to Oriel lamp components, 1.5 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch flanged mirror holders are available. Each mirror holder has both a male and female flange. The male flange is useful for coupling to the output of a lamp housing condenser lens. The female flange is useful for coupling to a Flanged Lens Holder, Shutter, or other male flanged component. Mirrors are interchangeable within the mirror holder, allowing the user to swap mirrors depending on the needs of his/her application.
