Features
Coated Colored Glass Bandpass Filters
Coated for Better Humidity Resistance
Select color filters are made from hygroscopic material which, when exposed to a humid environment, will start to discolor. Our new colored glass filters are coated with SiO2 film that protects the hygroscopic material from humidity and prevents staining. Humidity tests were conducted per MIL-C-48497 specifications. The film layer proved intact and optical performance of the filter remained the same after the test. In addition, the coated filters have a lower per surface reflectivity resulting in ~3% increase in transmission compared to the uncoated filters.
