Each coil is ruggedly packaged to withstand serious handling in field applications.
Order a Custom Delay Length
Construct the part number for a time delay coil of any fiber length from 10 m to 4000 m using this template. For example, to order a time delay coil 1350 meters long with FC/APC connectors, use part number F-TDC-OPT-N1N3N5N0FA. Time Delay Coils cannot be ordered online. Please call Newport to obtain pricing or to place an order.
Calculate Required Delay Length
To calculate the required fiber length to obtain a specific time delay, use the following formula: L = c Δt / n where c is the speed of light in vacuum, Δt is the desired time delay, and n is the index of refraction of fused silica at the wavelength of interest (use n = 1.4677 at 1310 nm and n = 1.4682 at 1550 nm).
