The M-RS65 Metric Rotation Stage provides precision rotation of components for laboratory, production, or industrial OEM applications. This aluminum stage rotates 360° in a precision bored bushing. By tightening a thumb screw on the side of the stage, the platform is tangentially driven by the precision actuator. The M-RS65 is supplied without an actuator to allow the user to choose between a fine adjustment screw, micrometer, differential micrometer, or a motorized actuator. A graduated scale marked in 2° increments indicate angular position and a vernier scale allows position readout to 12 arc min. Rotation can be locked to prevent accidental adjustment and reduce drift by tightening a second thumb screw on the side of the stage. The M-RS65 allows 25.4 mm diameter linear polarizers, wave plates, calcite polarizers, and polarizing cube beamsplitters to be rotated with precision. The inside diameter of the mount is threaded 1.063-20. Two Delrin retainer rings A-1.25-1RR are supplied to securely hold the optics. Thin optics can be held with one retaining ring on each side of the optic. The internal thread enables Newport Glan-laser calcite polarizers and CH Series cube beamsplitter holders, with the equivalent male thread, to be rotated in this stage. The RS65 is compatible with optical tables. A tapped hole is provided on the side for mounting this rotation stages vertically on a post. The RS65 also includes a solid aperture insert RSA-1TI with a centered clearance hole for on-axis mounting of components such as post holders.
Lockable Fine Rotation in a Low Profile
The RS Low-Profile series offers 10° fine adjustments, with ~2.5x smaller profile height than the 481 series. 360° coarse translation on the precision bored bearing locks in place with the smaller knurled knob in the thumbscrew on the side, which meanwhile engages the fine adjustment driven by actuators. The fine translation can also be locked down by tightening the bigger knurled knob in the same thumbscrew. 2° graduations and a Vernier with 12 arc min markings are engraved on the side of the stage.
Versatile Optic Mounting
The RS65 Rotation Stages feature 1.063"-20 threaded central aperture which allows secure mounting of 1.0 in. optic such as waveplates and polarizers using included retaining rings, 0.5 in. optic in PRA-05 Adapter, or 0.5 in. beamsplitting cube in CH-0.5 Holder. Glan-Laser Calcite Polarizers can directly thread into the tapped aperture. The RS65 mount also comes with a solid aperture insert RSA-1TI which will provide a centered clearance hole allowing on-axis mounting of optical component supported by an optical post.
Post or Table Mounting
While the RS65 stages can be directly mounted to optical table or breadboard using the clearance holes in the three corners, RS40 stages require B-2B (M-B-2B ) slotted base plate for mounting to optical table, or other products with a standard 1 inch (25 mm) hole pattern. These stages can also be post mounted in a vertical configuration using the tapped hole on the side.
Easily Combined for Multi-axis Motion
The RS Series Rotation Stages are compatible with DS Series Linear Stages and GON Series Goniometric Stages of matching size (for example, RS40 with DS40-X, RS65 with DS65-X). They can be combined to provide multi-axis motion and can be easily adapted to fit a specific system's needs.
Compatible Actuators
The RS65 Rotation Stages are actuator-driven stages supplied without an actuator to allow the user to choose an actuator type which fits the precision of the application. This allows a variety of actuators such as fine adjustment screws (AJS100-0.5 ), micrometers (SM-13 ), differential micrometers (DM-13L ), or motorized actuators (TRA12CC , TRA12PPD , TRB12CC , TRB12PP ). The actuators can be easily installed and interchanged.
