The IDL-BL line is designed with side-bands, a hard cover and air purge, which equates to IP50 level dust protection. IDL-BL stages are ideal for industrial use where the environment is not well-controlled. The focus for the IDL-BL is high through-put, heavy load capacity, and extreme reliability.
High Efficiency, Brushless DC Torque Motor
A high efficiency brushless DC torque motor with rare-earth magnets supplies an optimum ratio of torque per inertia for high acceleration, with minimal stage heating. At maximum continuous torque, the temperature of the motor increases by only 30°C.
Easy Direct Mounting of XY Stack Configurations
The IDL-BL industrial stages are designed for easy direct mounting of XY configurations using common hole patterns. In addition, IDL-BL stages feature both imperial and metric mounting hole patterns allowing for flexible mounting on standard optical tables or custom granite bases.
Brake Option
IDL-BLBK models with brake are also available for vertical applications to carry as much as 12 kg loads like laser heads or optical assemblies.

Just like any other Newport product, the IDL-BL series can be ordered both from stock or under a blanket schedule. This ensures that OEMs meet their commitments.
Metrology Report Included at No Additional Cost
Newport guarantees specification values which are measured and recorded following ASME B5.57 and ISO 230-2 standards. The typical performance values are two times better than the guaranteed specifications.
