Our Mid-IR Faraday optical isolators act essentially as a uni-directional light valve. It is used to protect a laser source near 2050 nm or 4550 nm from destabilizing feedback or actual damage from back-reflected light.

Features
1/2 Waveplate Option
We offer versions with an added zero order 1/2 wave plate (-W models) at the output stage so that the direction of the output beam polarization can be rotated to a desired direction.
High Efficiency Performance
The YIG crystal utilized in our Faraday isolators creates a large Verdet constant that ultimately describes the strength of the Faraday effect and provides effective isolation of back-reflected light. Additionally, these isolators have low absorption as a function of the YIG crystal and polarizers, resulting in reliable transmission of light in the forward direction.
