The M-SN100-F Suprema® Stainless Steel Clear Quadrant Kinematic Optical Mount is fabricated from pressed and sintered powdered metal stainless steel. Through our patent pending process we create cost-effective pressed and sintered powdered stainless steel mounts with performance comparable to that of wrought stainless steel. Newport's SN100 design has been optimized utilizing our broad experience in opto-mechanics, vibration damping and isolation, optics, and material science. Through comprehensive design, finite element analysis, and rigorous testing, we have achieved performance previously attained only through high cost, custom stainless steel mounts. Our Patented clear quadrant design exposes the edge of the optic, allowing beams to pass close to the edge of a mounted optic. 25.4 mm diameter optics are front loaded and held securely in place against precision mounting pads using the nylon-tipped setscrew, or be epoxied in place. Extensive laboratory testing has shown that epoxying the optic in place provides optimal performance and stability. SN100 mounts have superior adjustability and feel. Polished and lapped carbide pads enable smooth, repeatable motion. This version does not include the required actuators. Convenient M4 tapped holes provide quick, precise, secure and stable mounting. Suprema mounts are compatible with standard post and post holder systems for adjustable height and pedestal posts for a stable fixed height.
The Clear Edge Advantage
With the Clear Edge design, beams can be reflected from one mount to another at smaller incident angles (Φ) taking less space between the mounts (d). Clear Edge Mounts are also ideal for compensating for pulse dispersion effects through multiple reflections on Chirped Mirrors.
In-Process Heat Treatment
Every Suprema mount is heat treated as part of the fabrication process. Heat treating relieves the build up of fabrication stresses which improve the overall stability of the mount.
Precision Polished Carbide Pads
Suprema SN100 series mirror mounts are made with super hard 10 µ-in. precision-polished tungsten carbide kinematic pads ensuring a highly stable kinematic mechanism.
Locking Adjustment Screws
Suprema Clear Edge Low-Drift Mirror Mounts use a Flexure Lock built with an AJS bushing. Flexure Locks exert a tangential force on the screw to prevent rotation.
Replaceable Actuators
The Suprema SN100 and SN200 mount design allows actuators to be removed and installed with ease. Loosening the lock nut lets the actuator gently slide out from the mount enabling reconfiguration for specific applications. This industry-standard 9.5-mm bore allows many different types of actuators to be used with these versatile mirror mounts. Suprema mounts are compatible not only with standard actuator screws, but also with micrometers, Allen-key adjusters and differential micrometers.
