They are designed for applicatons that require moving heavy loads with sub-micron precision over 100-, 200- or 300-mm travel ranges. These stages feature closed-loop DC or brushless DC motor drive systems, making them ideal for applications that need faster speeds or higher repeatability.

DC Motors are best characterized by their high speeds, smooth motion, good efficiency and a high power/weight ratio. An incremental sensor consisting of an optical scale and encoder head provides position feedback for smooth motion and good repeatability. DC Motor-driven stages are preferable to stepper motor stages for applications requiring high dynamic speed and tight repeatability. MTN series is available in brushless DC motor version for faster speed and finer repeatability and stepper motor version for a more economical solution.

The all steel construction allows for extreme stiffness and thermal stability. Because the entire body is made from steel, bi-metallic bending effects and errors are eliminated. Among the all steel linear stages, the MTN boasts the highest load capacity at 100 kg.
Recirculating ball bearings ensure better dynamics and lifetime, as well as equal axial load capacity in both directions.
The non-migrating ball cage design eliminates cage drift, particularly in vertical applications, to enhance reliability.
